Activities around the Area

Listed here are a few experiences in the local area but Edinburgh city clearly has a lot more to offer.

South Queensferry

From the studio, an old disused railway line, now footpath, runs to South Queensferry. There you can see the Forth Rail Bridge and find some fine restaurants and cafes. It will also lead past South Queensferry railway station from which the train will take you into the centre of Edinburgh.

Jupiter Artland

A whole host of experiences that will fill a day for any art lover.

Forth Tours

Launching from under the Forth Rail Bridge in South Queensferry these boat tours cover many of the coastal sights in the area.

Kelpies

If you love huge metal horses and canals this is the place for you.

International Climbing Arena

For those with an adventurous streak.

Carlowrie Castle

For those lucky enough to be having or being invited to an event at this most picturesque of castles the studio is a mere five minute drive away.

Royal Highland Centre

This is the location of such prestigious events as the Royal Highland Show, Truckfest Scotland, Scottish Kennel Club Dog Show and many others. This venue is minutes drive from the studio so if you are attending any of these our location is perfect.

Dining

Dakota Hotel

Dakota provides great food and drinks in stylish surroundings. The cocktails are especially good.

Scott’s Restaurant

Another location worth a visit for any meal of the day. This restaurant is situated against the stunning backdrop of the Three Bridges and Firth of Forth in the Port Edgar Marina, South Queensferry.

Down the Hatch

This Canadian diner is right next to Scott’s but is a much more casual experience.

The Hawes Inn

Good pub grub and located under the Forth Rail Bridge next to the launch site for the Forth Boat Tours.

If you like beef in manly portions this is the place for you. As it is in the opposite direction from Edinburgh you could combine it with a trip to Blackness Castle or even Stirling,

Take-Aways that Deliver to the Studio

Bamboo Restaurant

Bamboo is a restaurant in South Queensferry serving Chinese food and will deliver to the studio.

Queens Spice

Queens Spice is an Indian restaurant in South Queensferry that will deliver to the studio.

Fourways Fish Bar

Our local chip shop in Kirkliston will deliver to the studio and has a range of foods to offer.

Dominos

There is also a Dominos pizza that will deliver to the area.

Down the Hatch

The South Queensferry, Port Edgar branch we think will deliver but we are yet to test this theory.

This off-road disused railway line goes to the waterfront in South Queensferry as well as Dalmeny Station

Follow the line from the Studio to the crossroads in Kirkliston. (You should not need to walk on the road)
